October 1st, 2026 - devicethread is excited to announce Hotel Pommier Ankeny, also known as Econo Lodge Ankeny, onboarding devicethread SmartAccess across its 56-room property in Ankeny, Iowa. It is the fourth Hotel Pommier property to deploy devicethread, following Indianola, Chariton, and Covered Bridge Inn in Winterset.

From One of Our First Customers to Four Properties Strong

Hotel Pommier's story with devicethread began in Indianola, where owner Pritesh Patel, one of devicethread's first customers, was tired of trial-and-error with access systems that left staff generating codes by hand and juggling tools that didn't talk to each other. SmartAccess changed that, and when Hotel Pommier grew to Chariton, the same partner was the obvious call. The results were documented in a customer story: instant codes synced to reservations, no key cards, and a seamless, app-free arrival.

Each expansion since has built on that trust. Chariton showed SmartAccess working on new hardware, not just the existing Yale locks in Indianola. Covered Bridge Inn followed with 33 new locks deployed in just two days. Now Ankeny makes it four.

Hotel Pommier Ankeny, just off Interstate 35 and minutes from Des Moines, now offers guests a smooth, self-serve check-in experience, reducing manual workflows and reception dependency across all 56 rooms.

SmartAccess was also integrated directly with the property's Cloudbeds PMS, allowing guest access to sync seamlessly with reservations and check-in data, the same setup that has powered every Hotel Pommier property.
