November 28th, 2025 - devicethread is excited to announce Hillside Garden onboarding devicethread SmartAccess across its property in Skopje, North Macedonia. This milestone reflects devicethread's continued expansion across Europe, as independent hotels look to modern access solutions that simplify day-to-day operations.

Simplifying Access in the Heart of Skopje

Hillside Garden, a hotel located in the Centar municipality of Skopje, needed a simpler way to manage guest access without adding operational overhead or relying heavily on front-desk presence throughout the day.

With SmartAccess, Hillside Garden now offers guests a smooth, self-serve check-in experience, reducing manual access workflows and reception dependency. The rollout added 8 new locks to the property, all using the property's existing lock hardware to avoid the cost and disruption of a full hardware replacement.

SmartAccess was also integrated directly with Hillside Garden's existing Cloudbeds PMS, allowing guest access to sync seamlessly with reservations and check-in data.

The deployment was managed entirely by the property's own team, reflecting how straightforward the SmartAccess onboarding process can be even for a small, self-managed hotel.
