About the Role
We're looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer who can lead the design of intuitive, scalable digital experiences across the shashi.ai and devicethread product ecosystem. This role goes beyond execution - you'll help define user journeys, interaction models, and AI-assisted workflows that power hospitality, device-driven, and operational platforms.
You will work closely with product leadership, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate complex systems spanning devices, automation, and integrations into clear, human-centered interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead end-to-end UI/UX design across web and product platforms.
- Translate product strategy and requirements into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Design and evolve AI-enabled user experiences, including AI-assisted workflows, smart recommendations, contextual prompts, and decision-support cues.
- Partner closely with product and engineering to ensure designs are scalable, feasible, and production-ready.
- Own and continuously improve the design system across products.
- Ensure UX consistency across dashboards, admin tools, and guest-facing experiences.
- Lead usability testing, design reviews, and iterative improvements.
- Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to ensure cohesive digital experiences.
- Provide clear design documentation, rationale, and handover for engineering and continuity.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to UX standards and best practices.
AI & Modern UX Expectations
- Strong ability to design interfaces that integrate AI outputs thoughtfully and responsibly.
- Experience designing UX for AI-driven features such as recommendations, automation, and operational insights.
- Experience with decision-assist and prompt-driven workflows.
- Comfort designing systems where explainability and trust are critical.
- Comfortable working with AI, data, automation, and device integration teams.
- Ability to evaluate where AI adds real value versus unnecessary complexity.
- Hands-on ML development is not required; strong UX leadership for AI-powered systems is.
Tools & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma (design systems, components, variants, auto-layout, libraries).
- Strong background in interaction design and prototyping.
- Proven experience designing complex, workflow-heavy SaaS platforms.
- Solid understanding of Agile and product-led development environments.
- Ability to balance speed, quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Strong communication skills and structured design thinking.
Qualifications
- Approximately 7 years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design.
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership, problem-solving, and system-level thinking.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, operational dashboards, or device-connected systems.
- Exposure to AI-enabled products or data-driven platforms is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience mentoring designers or leading design initiatives is a plus.
